Is your yacht equipped to travel the world?  Can you plug in to dock power in any country, anywhere in the world?  Over 1000 satisfied Atlas customers can.

Atlas, the world leader of marine power converters, presents ShorPOWER® Classic III -- the ultimate solution for world-wide yachting.  The ShorPOWER® Classic III frequency converter is a sophisticated "smart system" that isolates, regulates and conditions dockside power.

The Classic III protects the onboard electrical system by eliminating voltage spikes, surges, voltage drops or sags and harmonic distortions typical of dock power.  Simply put; Classic III converts any frequency, phase and voltage to the yacht's exact electrical requirements.  The ShorPOWER® Classic III will convert single or three phase voltage to the specific electrical configuration onboard the yacht.  This system is offered in sizes from 20 to 600 kVA.

Atlas' development team has utilized their many years of experience and feedback from our customers to create Classic III, a system with many new features; digital input and output metering, smaller enclosures, optional on site upgrades, digital touch screen for simple and clear operation with help menus and troubleshooting guides.

SmartBOX™

The SmartBOX™ permits the connection of two single-phase or two three-phase shore cords to the input of a ShorPOWER® Classic, to increase the amount of power available to the vessel.  All phase connections are automatically reconfigured to assure proper phase relationships are maintained.  If one shore cord is disconnected from the shore outlet, the built-in safety circuits will prevent back feed to the disconnected cord to prevent electrical shock.  The SmartBOX™ permits the paralleling of two shore cords, even Ground Fault Interruption circuit breakers (GFI or RCD) are installed at the dock service.  The two shore cord sources must be fed from the same utility distribution transformer and at the same voltage.  The SmartBOX™ is supplied in a separate enclosure for bulkhead-mounting and available in the following configurations:

SB50 - two 50 amp shore cords provide 100 amp service
SB120 - two 100 amp shore cords provide 200 amp (240 amp max) service
SB160 - two 150 amp shore cords provide 300 amp (360 amp max) service
SB230 - two 200 amp shore cords provide 400 amp (480 amp max) service

SmartBOX II™

The SmartBOX II™ accepts two 50 amp single-phase shore power cords to provide 100 amp service to the vessel.  All phase connections are automatically reconfigured to assure proper phase relationships are maintained.  If one shore cord is disconnected from the shore outlet, the built-in safety circuits will prevent back feed to the disconnected cord to prevent electrical shock.  The two shore cord sources must be fed from the same utility distribution transformer.  The SmartBOX II™ is available in two configurations:

  100-amp single-phase output connector
  100-amp three-phase output connector

Seamless Transfer (ST)

The Seamless Transfer option provides a method of switching from generator to dock power (and vice versa) without interruption to the load.  This prevents any momentary blackouts on board during the switching process, which can cause problems with electronic equipment, affect alarms systems as well as producing a noticeable flicker in the lighting throughout the vessel.  The user must furnish contactors and/or motorized circuit breakers as required or purchase a generator transfer interface module (GTIM).  For configurations with more than three generators, consult the factory.

Generator Transfer (GT)

The Generator Transfer option includes the Seamless Transfer option and provides seamless transfer of power from generator to shore and from shore to generator, as well as transfer of power from generator to generator.  All transfers are made without interruption (make before break) using the ShorPOWER system as a frequency-matching device.

Paralleling

The Paralleling option permits paralleling the outputs of two or more ShorPOWER units for increased capacity or redundancy. Each ShorPOWER may still be operated independantly. Individual ShorPOWER units may be connected or disconnected without power interruption.  Each unit may be plugged into a different power source, i.e., one unit can be connected to 208V 3-phase and the other 240V single-phase.  Each unit will share the load proportional to the available dock power.  For more than two units, add one paralleling module per unit (three ShorPOWER units require two paralleling modules, four ShorPOWER units require three modules, etc.)

Touch Screen Control

The Touch Screen Control option includes a five-inch or ten-inch remote monitor with Touch Screen Control permitting the control and monitoring of the ShorPOWER system from the bridge, vessel's office, control room or other location.

Modular Configuration

The Modular Configuration option custom packages the ShorPOWER unit into two or more separate and smaller enclosures.
